ECE 70 – ECE 104 contour markings
ECE 70 and ECE 104 markings for trucks and trailers: ECE 70 (Economic Commission for Europe) regulates rear markings for vehicles used in cross-border heavy goods transport. Truck markings have been mandatory in the following countries since January 1, 1996, according to the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO): England, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Czech Republic, and Poland. It is recommended that you affix a rear warning marking – vehicle warning marking according to ECE 70 – when driving through the aforementioned countries. In Germany, ECE 70 markings are permitted but not mandatory; in other European countries, their use is optional.
